Oh the difference one customer driven change makes

Crazy carnival chair
Yesterday at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, waiting for a client.

Much of yesterday (Wednesday) was spent having fun, even though it was a work day. As my speaking business starts to normalize – meaning proper systems and processes are in place – i expect this to be the norm.

There was no advance preparation (prior to retiring from Disney) to structure things around Disney content because that was never the plan. So the past year has been spent “playing catch up” to meet a small change driven solely by Guest (client) demand.

Disney’s biggest fans are their Cast Members.

They love Disney so much that they left everything behind and moved to Orlando or Anaheim just to work there everyday.

They love Disney so much that they stay for a lifetime, just to get the lifetime annual pass that comes with their Disney Retiree ID card.

So yes:

When the wait is killing you what’s your plan B?

Epcot Spaceship Earth at night

After it got dark last night, we decided to go to Epcot for dinner at Japan’s Katsura Cafe. Counter service, fast, convenient, and a healthy, almost three-mile roundtrip walk.

Heavily motivated to take jungle jeff’s mind off of the fact that the first keynote speaking check should arrive with the mail. The wait was “killing him”.

The wonderfully cool evening air and mild attendance made it a wonderful distraction that paid off when we arrived home.

On a side note, Face Timed Cheryl at Disneyland (she’s there working for 10 days) and she got to see the opening of the envelope. A catalytic milestone earning the same fee Disney Institute commands.
