What we do is very serious business, but we should never take ourselves too seriously.

On it.

Every day.

All day.

i’ve been to the mountain top

Speaker Ready room at Orlando Ritz Carlton
Less than 24 hours ago. i was directed to the wrong end of the Ritz to find our conference room. This allowed the opportunity to discover one of the nicest “Greenrooms” i’ve ever seen.
Speaker Ready Room, for the other conference – the one that occupied all the meeting rooms but one. Talk about posh.

i’ve been to the mountain top.

And i’ve seen the promised land.

January is always an active month for doing another round of downsizing the paperwork of life.

Excited to attack a few piles of Disney and Disney Institute memorabilia (95% work related stuff).

Getting these piles off the floor will feel like freedom.

Free at last.

Has a nice ring to it.

What’s your next impossible that you can’t wait to do?

Disney Leadership Speakers
Most photos i post, in any online format, come from my phone.

In yesterday’s jeffnoel.com post you saw a bunch of photos with Disney’s Pluto.

What opens up for me when i know someone’s favorite character is the opportunity to go the extra inch.

The extra inch is a Disney concept that i operationalized while speaking at Disney Institute. Most of my colleagues didn’t see the insane consultative power it yields.

Going the extra inch simply means doing just barely enough (but enough) to surprise and delight a Guest or colleague.

For example, in replying to an email from one of our Son’s teachers, i can include a photo (unexpected) of their favorite Disney Character.

The way i scale this to be able to do it with literally anyone i know (via email, text, Whatsapp, social media), is that i have a structure and process for creating, collecting, and retrieving Disney Character photos.

This is why being organized is so critical

Disney keynote speaker
Walt and his Family (only one daughter at the time) and some of our Pixar “children”.

In between goals is a thing called life, that has to be lived and enjoyed.  – Sid Caesar

This is why being organized is so critical – if you want to have a life, you have to make room for it.

Being goal-oriented is a double-edged sword and it’s possible to achieve income, status, zip code, and possessions, yet be poor in spirit and health.

Here’s a bonus insight: you’ll fail many times trying to get the right balance.

Failure isn’t failing, it’s giving you an opportunity to try again, differently.

Wisdom comes from experience

Disney Culture Speaker
It’s called conviction.

Wisdom comes from experience. Experience comes from making mistakes.

Developing and nurturing your convictions takes time.

You will have some – and possibly all – of it wrong as you grow and mature.

Lead with love, gratitude, generosity, forgiveness, self-control, honesty, initiative, and fun.

The details will fall into place as time goes by.
