The paperwork of life

Post-it note with handwriting — Days later, still working to close my Old GoDaddy Legacy account. Multiple calls, on multiple days, to multiple people. A few emails too. The drag from ‘administrative friction’ puts unproductive strain on our time and psyche.

Oil leak on concrete under a car — Same unwelcome drag when one issue, car repair, becomes a series of domino-effect unresolved administrative chores. Pictured here is a new oil leak, after $3,600 (and three weeks). Will have to return to Action Gator Tire and begin again to ask, “Why is this happening? It wasn’t happening before i brought it to you. Please exceed my expectations, if possible.”

iPhone alarm clock setting — Getting eight hours of sleep is a daily ‘to-do’. It is never on a list though. It’s an automatic (atomic) habit. Actually got nine hours last night. Yay me. Day seven, Flu-A. Sleep is recovery medicine.

The cosmos.

Inexplicable.

Hard to articulate.

But i feel a cosmic energy shift in my commitment to minimalism.

Note: i envision less of everything is more of everything. It sounds paradoxical. Which is in my wheelhouse. So that feels like money in the bank.

2024’s final week, home

Bob Iger and Jeff Noel from 2005 at Disney Resort — Bob met with Disney’s Board of Directors at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. i met with several dozen global business leaders to teach them Disney’s Business behind the Magic, also at ‘The Grand’.

Marty Sklar and Jeff Noel at Disney Resort — Marty Sklar needed a Disney Institute (DI) handler for his Walt Disney World Keynote. DI leadership picked me. In a story for another time, i didn’t feel i had time in my Disney schedule to do it for two days.

The Disney leaders i learned from are broad and often times deep.

This is an exceptional opportunity only a large, world-class company affords.

Grateful.

Before iPhone

Motorola razor flip phone — Early 2000’s. Motorola Razor, flip phone. The coolest phone to destroy the Blackberry.

Back in the day, Blackberries we’re the world’s most sophisticated, affordable “mobile” phones.

Then the Motorola Razor was small, also sophisticated and affordable.

No one could see coming what we have today.

Note: Don’t forget to expect what is crazy-amazing today will soon be a relic.
