Risk like you mean it

As a kid, i listened to the Swiss Family Robinson album over and over and over.
landscape plan design flaw
In three months, the Panera sign will be blocked. It will be 10-15 years or more before these palms clear the lettering. Sable palms grow 3″ per year.

Risk like you mean it.

Take risks when the need is low. Failure then will not matter much, if at all.

This is a glorious place to be.

The key to making this a habit is to be organized so you have time to dream. When you are overwhelmed with a busy schedule, you lose this opportunity. In this case, you take risks because you’re desperate and disorganized.

What we do is very serious business, but we should never take ourselves too seriously.

On it.

Every day.

All day.

When you plan something

Apple Pen automatic setup with iPad
Yesterday. Keep learning. Keep pushing. Never settle. Never used an iPad as my main frame. Never used an Apple Pencil either. Retiring both 2015 MacBook 12″ “main frames” in the spirit of portability and proactive change.

When you plan something and then do it, your experience will fall into three ratings:

  1. Goes exactly as planned (rare)
  2. Goes worse than planned
  3. Goes better than planned

Last night’s Disney keynote speech was well worth it for Chapin to hear.

The format changed (adding a second speaker) before we attended (and after tickets were purchased) and the format changed a second time (Q & A instead of presentation) when we arrived.

The moderated Q&A was different and interesting.

It was not what i hyped to Chapin.

We had a decent debrief on the 40-minute drive home.

Bottom line, 100% worth our time, money, and effort.

Couldn’t decide

Couldn’t decide.

The iPad Pro 12.9″ seemed bigger than i wanted. And i didn’t take my 12″ MacBook, nor my small hiking backpack to compare against my current arrangement.

On Apple’s website in November, i was convinced the 12.9″ was the ticket.

Both of my Macbooks are from 2015, out of Apple Care warranty, and only 500G.

Looking to add a 1T, highly portable, latest features, device as my go-to travel tool.

The 11″ iPad Pro looked great too.

Then last night, the crazy idea.

One of each.

Not ruling it out, and yes, it is crazy.

i always have a backup device.

Do you DU?

Disney University
Yesterday on New Year’s Eve, while bicycling to Magic Kingdom. Disney University is known to all Cast Members as DU.

With June 8, 2019 and my 60th birthday in sight, i can feel the sense of urgency fading because the finish line doesn’t seem urgent anymore.

And it’s because of this that i am finding creative motivation to stay true to the original plan – to live like i only have a decade to live.
