In 1998, the phone rang while i was working at Disney’s Flagship Resort and i was asked if i would like to help people outside of Disney understand how Disney runs it’s business so successfully. The webinar above shares some of the Customer Service secrets i’ve been sharing publicly since 1999.

The cross i bear

Great Customer Service, and organizational vibrancy, is my life’s work.

 

State Farm and Chase Bank tested my patience yesterday. PS. It didn’t last long because i caught myself.

A week went by and i thought our car would be close to being repaired and ready to go.

State Farm said it hasn’t been started.

Later, the Chase branch manager arranged a meeting for me to speak with one of her staff about a Home Equity line of credit.

Arriving for the appointment, i was ushered into an office with two people, not one. The other was a Wealth Management specialist. i told the branch manager i didn’t want a pitch.

And that’s exactly what they orchestrated.

World-class service is difficult to scale, even from some of the America’s most popular brands.

Disney Magic is easy for anyone to create because it is simple.

All you have to do is organize yourself well enough so that your target is so big, you couldn’t possibly miss.

It’s not the extra mile that is sustainable, it’s going the extra inch.

Have orchestrated four inches today and will share with you tomorrow how it turned out.

It won’t happen all day, everyday without decent organization.

So in reading between the lines, it can happen all day, everyday.

It should happen all day, everyday.

Some our not satisfied unless it is all day, everyday.
