Father’s Day 2014… set out on bike for Church

What does a Father do with a house all to himself for six days on either side of the ‘holiday’?

Purge.

Plan.

Play.

Pray.

Smile.

Now imagine if we didn’t conduct routine organization

Boat called Amazon in Miami Boat residential boat dock
Like the mighty Amazon river, life’s challenges constantly flow

You know how we sometimes get on a roll and we sort, clean, organize, and then purge or donate our stuff?

And then shortly afterwards, it feels like it never happened?

Now imagine if we didn’t routinely organize our stuff.

So much of the ‘why’ is hidden in the constant onslaught of life.

The battle is often not to get ahead, but simply not to get buried.

How being organized can make paying for something, well, art

Apple Store App Easy Pay
Easy pay is art, ridiculously remarkable

Apple is making being organized an art form. Yesterday’s visit to the Apple store revealed a new process available to iPhone 5s users. You can use fingerprints to unlock your phone so you never again have to tap four numbers.

They allow you to use fingerprint recognition to use the Apple Store App. It goes like this:

  • visit Apple Store
  • pick a product off the shelf
  • use Apple Store App to scan the barcode
  • pay using the App
  • walk out
  • no human interaction is required
  • self-service to a whole new (remarkable) level

Remarkable.

Art.

Bothered Not Bored

The other night I told our son, “I’m bothered, but not bored.”

I’m bothered by the work load I put on myself.  Career, home, church, gym, home, family, retirement.

I’m not bored by any of it though.

Why?

Because I love it.  None of it feels like work.  So, being bored is the last thing on my mind.

Except for one small detail, and I must confess, “I’m bored with being bothered!”
