Overwhelmed

Overwhelmed? Yes. Why? Because life has seasons and this is the rainy season. Holidays, major projects with year-end deadlines, plus the daily goal of work life wellness.

You know what I mean. Right? The good news, I know where my next meal is coming from.

This month I’m inviting the Mid Life Celebration community to follow all five daily blogs about work life balance. It couldn’t be easier to go from this HQ blog to the mental attitude blog , just click -> go to Next Blog

Get Busy

Scary Monsters, Inc.

Man, getting busy is the last thing I need help with. Could use some help on not getting busy.

That storybook little pig that built his house with brick was actually better off than his two other little pig friends who’s house’s were destroyed by that huffy-puffy BB wolf.

There’s some sort of valuable, but twisted, paradox in the moral and reality. I’m struggling a bit with it myself.

Who could have ever predicted this?

Bad Habits Don’t Just Go Away

Don't Get Too Carried Away
Don't Get Too Carried Away

“A bad habit never disappears miraculously; it’s an undo-it-yourself project.” – Abigail Van Buren

Pauline Phillips, better known as Abigail Van Buren, wrote the syndicated “Dear Abby” column for 46 years.

What would happen to your life if every day (or nearly every day) you did one thing to become more organized, even if it was as small and seemingly insignificant as recycling or trashing something you haven’t touched in 11 years?

This is doable. But it will require you to rethink your normal routine.

Bothered Not Bored

The other night I told our son, “I’m bothered, but not bored.”

I’m bothered by the work load I put on myself.  Career, home, church, gym, home, family, retirement.

I’m not bored by any of it though.

Why?

Because I love it.  None of it feels like work.  So, being bored is the last thing on my mind.

Except for one small detail, and I must confess, “I’m bored with being bothered!”
