Seriously serious?

Seriously serious?

Be serious about being organized.

Be serious about having fun.

The two are not mutually exclusive.

The catch?

You (and you alone) have to figure out what works best, and you must be prepared to learn and adapt as you go.

The bonus?

You can seek advice from other organized people, and learn the harsh realities of being unorganized from personal experience and observation of other unorganized people.

If Disney Ran Your Life podcast update

If Disney Ran Your Life podcast with jeff noel
If Disney Ran Your Life is my new Podcast coming in 2019.

If Disney Ran Your Life podcast update.

Moments ago i listened to Episode 14 from Season One. It’s the final episode of what we’ve called “Cast Previews”.

After listening to the first two episodes, i knew immeadiately that we would delay any promotion of it.

Why?

i needed practice.

These 14 episodes are nick-named “The Basement Tapes” because i feel like Jody Maberry (the Host) and i are in our parent’s basement, trying to start a band, finding our sound, having fun, and getting enough confidence to start playing “free gigs”.

PS. Last week the first two episodes of Season Two (called Soft Opening) came back from the editor. Exciting. We recorded eight episodes in a marathon recording day at Walt Disney World.

Just add action

behaviors trump intentions
Does this inspire or overwhelm you?

Just add action.

Learn like you mean it, but at some point you have to put more time into action than learning.

Learning can be a great excuse-justifier.

Unless someone presses you to see this in yourself (like i did with myself years ago), you never will.

It’s a vicious cycle of wanting to learn just a little more before you take your big risk.

But alas, risks may not work and you may lose your reputation, you may look like a fool, or you may cause a serious setback for your organization (and/or yourself).

As a bonus, all action becomes a higher-level learning curriculum.

Master the best of what other people have figured out.

As i close in on 10 years of writing five daily, differently-themed blog posts – without missing a single day – it’s helpful to consider your personal and organizational vibrancy challenges and opportunities and ask yourself, “Who’s mastered what i’m (we’re) trying to master?”

With free information comes great responsibility.

To remain ignorant now, in our current decade, becomes a choice and not a mandatory circumstance.

There is nothing you can’t ask and get a decent answer with a couple clicks and then read, view, or listen to what will move you from ignorant to knowledgeable.
