Which way did he go?

Which way did he go? For the past week, been thinking about which way I’m gonna go tomorrow – you know, with the blogging.

And for four months, been wondering which way I’m gonna go – you know, with the business.

Are they mutually exclusive?

The thing with going with our gut is… what if we’re wrong.

The other thing, what if we don’t… and we were right that we should have?

Four important blogging lessons I’ve learned since 2008

Twitter profile tips
have changed Twitter profile descriptions many times…but never the Five-A-Day routine

Four important blogging lessons learned since 2008:

  1. Understand the conventional wisdom, then try not to be tempted by it
  2. Bloggers want something to happen with their blog, but have no idea what
  3. The real change comes from inside the person, not on the blog itself
  4. Hard work often yields unexpected dividends

Critics will always speak up. Respond wisely.

Three blogging tactics I don’t do anymore:

  1. no longer use my name
  2. no longer use a long list of tags
  3. no longer use long post titles

Is this measurable? Of course. You may not notice, but I sure have. And that’s the key insight. Are you willing to make changes even if most won’t notice nor care?

How insane is this blogging tactic?

summer vacation
could take the entire summer off and no one would notice

Some of you are fellow bloggers. Others, not. If you are, then you absolutely “get it” how challenging it is to write daily, let alone write five posts daily. It’s up there in the “some of the most challenging things I’ve ever done” category.

Let me up the insane factor – the x factor if you will. If I stopped writing five daily posts today, you wouldn’t notice it until September 6.

Five Blogs In Un-Record Time

From our three-person canoe, the other Cub Scout Dad and I marveled at the earth’s tides as we gently paddled ahead of the boys. The ebb and flow of mother nature. Was there a secret message to humans? We talked also of cliches and sayings, wondering if there is a difference.

Nature ebbs and flows – “going with the flow” – is that the secret to life? Learning how to go with the flow? I wondered aloud if there’d be an iPhone with simply going with the flow. Seems there are times when we should be full-throttle pushing the limits. Right?
