smiling Jesus painting in a gift shop
My recent first ever discovery of a smiling Jesus. Beyond surprised. Overwhelmed. Delighted. Ecstatic.

What’s one thing that’s surprised you about summer 2026?

While not technically ‘surprised’, being a couple months into a fixed-income lifestyle is not negatively denting our normal lifestyle so far.

Delightfully surprised.

A segue to tomorrow’s posts? Maybe.

What’s a blogging challenge few, if any, know about?

Finding photos and videos to support the written content, five times a day.

Bonus unknown challenge: Knowing when to stop prolific blogging?

Allentown daises, not far from cousin Michael’s home. From a walk while up for Cheryl’s 50th high school reunion.

Daises are my favorite. – dad

Mom and son floating in Gulf of Mexico at Sanibel Island
Sanibel Island. Every Summer. Cheryl and i vacationed here for a decade or so before our son was born. Then every year of his life for the next 20 years.

Happy June 1, 2026.

While the Summer Solstice is three weeks away (June 21, 4:54am), Since childhood, i’ve always celebrated Summer’s arrival on June 1st.

Why?

Maybe the most basic, accurate answer is, “it feels instinctual”.

Ps. Why wait three more weeks for the “Summer spirit” to arrive?

Just a pause to restate the obvious

Just a pause to restate the obvious. Summer 2020 is a summer of Glacier and quotes.

This initiative was inspired by cleaning a lifetime of Disney files and eliminating paper. Been curating the quotes that still resonate. Thousands have literally not made the cut. Enjoy. Gotta go, the mountains are calling.
