i do not miss traveling for business

Yesterday, it took nine hours from our home door to the hotel door.

Why aren’t we crystal clear with ourselves about this?

Disney University Lobby
Photo from earlier this week. A lifetime here is a heavy influence in how i think. In 1982, i worked on the second floor every Friday in Cast Activities.

It was weird in hindsight.

We talked at length yesterday about how powerful culture is. Everyone knows it’s critically important.

Yet like health, we don’t do much about it (today).

Floating in a pool raft near Disney World

In 2008, at 49, with a 50th birthday more than half a year away, i envisioned a 10-year plan to commence on my 50th birthday: five more years at Disney (for a total of 30), and five years to put a dent in the Universe.

No male on my dad’s side has made it past 60.

This morning i caught myself feeling like i am taking for granted the 3.6 years remaining (until 60).

Important note: Jack Noel lived to be 67. Early onset, rapid-progression Alzheimer’s Disease stole his cognitive abilities by the time he was 60.

Why are we are taught to fear this?

Disney Executive Keynote Speaker jeff noel
It was weird being on two of the four banners. Far left banner, to the right of MM.

Why are we are taught to fear this?

The unknown.

Embracing the unknown is where transformation happens.

Being organized isn’t just about stuff, it’s also about thoughts.

Lofty, noble, thriving thoughts.
