Most Amazing Gift?

Most Amazing Gift?
Most Amazing Gift?

What is the most amazing gift you’ve ever received, besides the gift of life?

This should be much easier than trying to pick a favorite song.

It took me days to pick a song that would be featured on a soundtrack, if our life ever became a movie.  Days.

But today’s question is a no brainer.  Instantaneous answer.

Strength Is Your Responsibility

100 Years Old
100 Years Old

“Strength is something you forge from within.”Eugenia ‘Jean’ Finnegan Biden

Watching (not really, more like listening) ABC Evening News a few weeks ago, Vice President Joe Biden spoke of fond memories and important lessons he learned from his mother.

She had died the day before.

Of all the things Vice President Joe Biden said, it’s his mother’s advice at the top here, that resonated the most.

Why?

Personal responsibility is really the key to success.  I’ve known this all my life and you have too.

Having a ten year plan has really helped me see what’s still possible, but not guaranteed.

Not six months.  Ten years.

PS. This is the first dupe post.  By accident. Seems it posted January 9 at Lane 8, but for some reason it also sat in jeffnoel.com   It is a major rule to not recycle content here.  I’m gonna let this one ride though.

Why?  Because one dupe post ain’t gonna end the world.  Besides, the endings are different, unbeknownst to me.

Can’t Learn Anything From

International Bicycle Trip 1984

“You can’t learn anything from experiences you’re not having.” Louis L’Amour

Do you notice how conversations change this time of year?

There is always so much talk about what we’re going to do.  New Year, New You!

People love to dream and talk about their future plans. A new year brings this on every January.

It lasts a few weeks and then it’s gone.

Until next January.

This happens year after year, until we die.

Carrie Underwood Change

Just A Fool?
Just A Fool?

“To live without my music would be impossible to do, because in this world of troubles, my music pulls me through.”

The other day, I heard Carrie Underwood’s new song, Change“.

There’s a line in the song that goes like this:

“Just a fool, just a fool to believe, you can change the world.”

Maybe.  Maybe not.

Haiti One Week Later

Time Flies, Unless You're In Haiti
Time Flies, Unless You're In Haiti

Yesterday’s quote was from Martin Luther King, Jr.

In Haiti how many people, in the past seven days have:

  1. Died?
  2. Become homeless?

Mind boggling.  And then it dawned on me – all these world events. One tragedy after another.

Why?

Why did white people need someone like Martin Luther King to paint a better future?

Shouldn’t the better future have been a no-brainer?  I mean, seriously. Come on.

Anybody else starting to have deja vu?
