think differently
Challenging to read without a bigger screen. Real life in real time. My email to Jody yesterday.

.think .differently about everything.

It’s good for your soul.

Everything speaks at Disney

Disney's Wilderness Lodge light poles
Do these flowers help you answer where on Walt Disney World property are these light poles located?

Everything speaks at Disney.

The plants, the light fixtures, the rocks (or no rocks), the color of the walkways and what they’re made of.

Trash cans.

Everything.

A thousand things if not more.

No one notices though.

It’s expected.

Disney Guests only notice what we do when we don’t do it.

Just add action

behaviors trump intentions
Does this inspire or overwhelm you?

Just add action.

Learn like you mean it, but at some point you have to put more time into action than learning.

Learning can be a great excuse-justifier.

Unless someone presses you to see this in yourself (like i did with myself years ago), you never will.

It’s a vicious cycle of wanting to learn just a little more before you take your big risk.

But alas, risks may not work and you may lose your reputation, you may look like a fool, or you may cause a serious setback for your organization (and/or yourself).

As a bonus, all action becomes a higher-level learning curriculum.

i’ve been to the mountain top

Speaker Ready room at Orlando Ritz Carlton
Less than 24 hours ago. i was directed to the wrong end of the Ritz to find our conference room. This allowed the opportunity to discover one of the nicest “Greenrooms” i’ve ever seen.
Speaker Ready Room, for the other conference – the one that occupied all the meeting rooms but one. Talk about posh.

i’ve been to the mountain top.

And i’ve seen the promised land.

January is always an active month for doing another round of downsizing the paperwork of life.

Excited to attack a few piles of Disney and Disney Institute memorabilia (95% work related stuff).

Getting these piles off the floor will feel like freedom.

Free at last.

Has a nice ring to it.
