Imagine the perimeter of the four boxes being a fifth box – that’s our HQ, or head quarters, the paperwork of life.

i think the reason i kept writing after 100 days was because…

i am preparing to die.

We are all going to die.

This isn’t a radical or secret revelation. It’s simply the truth.

And we are either planning to die well or we are avoiding planning to die well.

i’m not saying the circumstances that will cause our death will be pleasant, i’m saying that regardless of how we die, we can have our affairs, our spirit, our relationships, in decent order.

The best we can do

Yesterday before leaving.

Mitchell's Sand Castles Ocean Mist Cottage
Yesterday morning. A reminder of next year’s view.

The best we can do is the best we can do.

Our busy lives with multiple, and often competing priorities, can be so overwhelming that we crumble under the pressure.

It’s the paradox of getting, being, and staying organized.

The 2016 accommodations got booked yesterday.

World class writing and speaking tips

Infamous magic Kingdom Honey Bucket
Main Street Sanitation Department… deposit all excuses here.

Writer’s block? Here are ten ideas for content:

  1. What you learned yesterday.
  2. What you get to do today.
  3. What you hope for tomorrow.
  4. Obvious or invisible paradox.
  5. Common sense that isn’t common.
  6. Simple questions few can (but should be able to) answer instantaneously and convincingly.
  7. Excuses, regrets, opportunity, second chances, and permission.
  8. Art. Your art. Art the world needs.
  9. Impossible things.
  10. Love.

One day you will suffer from writer’s flood. Please don’t cast blame this way.

You’re welcome. 🙂

Does it even matter?

Disney Keynote Speaker
Walked Disney California Adventure at 7am and then walked to Disneyland prior to it’s 8am opening.

March 21 as this is written. June 21 as it goes public. Happy Summer Solstice. Here’s to hoping this is your best Summer ever.

Back to today, March 21. In 10 days the sixth year of daily blogging ends and the seventh year begins.

There’s an almost universal misunderstanding about the daily blogging. And after 11,000 blog posts, it long ago became something to accept and not worry about.

And here’s the crazy part – the writing isn’t one daily blog post for nearly every day of the year.

It’s every single day, without exception.

It’s 2,191 days in a row.

Unbelievable, until it’s not.

And it’s five differently-themed posts a day on five differently-themed websites.

Insane? For sure. Does it matter? Only to this person.
