The time to do it is when you don’t need to

Heading to Montreal tomorrow morning.

Flying to Montreal tomorrow morning to delver a Customer Service Keynote speech that features what i’ve learned from a lifetime at Disney.

Double checked with ATT yesterday about my mobile communication options. They sent me the text above in case i needed help in Canada. The call is free.

But once in Canada, calls become very expensive.

The time to plan for worst case scenario is when you don’t need to.

Of course, there’s free email, text, Facetime, and Skype if you can get a decent wifi signal.

We said it and taught it at Disney Institute

Last night at ABE (Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton) airport, now called Lehigh Valley International.

Organize to maximize was a phrase we said (and taught) at Disney Institute. It’s the only way a photo like the one above was possible last night.

What this means is that i organized my creativity so that i could retire early from a 30-year career i adored.

And i organized my long-term plans in a creative way so that i could avoid regret.

The photo above happened because i was able to travel to Allentown on a moment’s notice, without having to check with “the boss”. i am now the boss.

Organized for travel

Apple Store Lehigh Valley Mall
He beat me at chess yesterday…on a Mac, at the Apple Store.

Does courage and personal organization go hand in hand?

We probably don’t think about the correlation.

But there’s power in doing it.

For only the second time since owning a laptop (2008), i’m traveling without it.

In it’s place, an iPhone 6. Blogging on a mobile device has finally reached hassle-free status.

The biggest hassle had been inserting photos into a post.

Traveling light is a metaphor and a reality.

i do not miss traveling for business

Yesterday, it took nine hours from our home door to the hotel door.

It’s challenging to be decently organized in today’s crazy busy world.

Last night a text excerpt , bottom right, to my wife Cheryl:

I do not miss traveling.

A simple trip to Indiana took nine hours door to door.
