June 8, 1959. Day he was born.

Forty years later in 1999 he finally figured out why.

He turns 55 in two days.

How cool is that?

For 15 years transformation has been occurring at such a slow and steady pace, imperceptibly.

Last Summer he asked everyone if the Summer of 2013 would be our best ever.

Guess what this Summer’s question is?

An unlikely part of the paperwork of life is finding ways to put life’s challenges and opportunities into context. This takes time and creativity. Finding time takes organization. Finding creativity takes practice and time.

I remind our Son that our military often travel for a year at a time. At least I’m home a few days a week. Perspective (in anything) is a great blessing, but too often missed if we are disorganized.

Some of life’s greatest moments happen when we travel. Very often the people we love are with us when these great moments happen. And often, they are not.

The key is to be organized enough to have processes and systems in place. And to make the travel not become a burden nor a chore. I work desperately hard at ensuring travel is not seen as a negative.
