Reverse Fathers Day, home

What if you start thinking the opposite about everything you believe at home?

Tradition and dogma imprint idyllic American home life.

Two cats and a dog.

White picket fence.

Couple of kids.

Tire swing on the big Maple tree.

Front porch sitting.

Vegetable garden in the back.

Surrounding the ‘idyllic American life’ is reality.

What if you thought differently?

Take ‘the perfect home’ for example…

No standard to attain.

No ‘keeping up with the Jones’.

No gluttony nor fear of missing out.

A roof over your head is the gift.

Living in America is your gift.

Clean water, drivable roads, flushing toilets, the Food & Drug Administration, public schools, law enforcement, and an endless list of world-class infrastructure and processes. This is the invisible American Dream.

Home fun

apartment building
The yellow bookended pillars make our place ‘pop’ from a distance. Helps us know where we are in our new surroundings.

Crystallizing my priorities is my favorite home fun.

Personal accountability could be a dark horse first priority.

Then after that ‘dark-horse’ priority, everything after that is the best order to achieve personal accountability.

Can you imagine how hard it would be to have ‘high motivation, high creativity, and high boldness’ without accountability?

Kangaroos are in a massive outdoor enclosure in which humans and kangaroos roam and interact without restriction. Completely self-directed.

Nature is my favorite classroom.

Nature is all there is.

Some, more developed than others.

Positivity example

15-second video: Grabbing a few college apartment essentials for Chapin’s visit to our Oceanside apartment.
Ocean sunrise
Second sunrise this morning. Heading out for a walk.

Allergic to most pollens and mediocrity, i can’t wait for the alarm clock to go off every morning.

We are settling in nicely for living a few weeks on the other side of Spaceship Earth.

Similar differences

Sunrise through a window
Sunrise and sunset looks similar. The frequency is similar yet the timing is different. Photo: Same sunrise, different vantage.
Two adults walking on the beach
Many similarities. Many differences. Pretty cool.
Three adults posing for a picture on the beach
Same last name. Different firsts and middles.
Forest fire at the beach
Cheryl’s great contextual photo of today’s prescribed burn.

Our similarities are different. Our differences are similar.

Disney’s Epcot celebrates two things i’m talking about in this post.

  1. Celebrating what makes us different, with World Showcase.
  2. Celebrating what unites us, with Future World.
