First time podcast Guest later today with Jody Maberry. Jody hosts Creating Disney Magic with Lee Cockerell.

Lee suggested i contact Jody about starting my own podcast.

Jody and i have been talking for the past six months.

Not sold on having one of my own.

But today, i get to be Jody’s Guest on his brand new, personal Podcast.

Bought the recommended microphone months ago, and two weeks ago Jody and i did a dry run Skype call and recorded a few minutes of random conversation – just to make sure both parties felt confident.

When the wait is killing you what’s your plan B?

After it got dark last night, we decided to go to Epcot for dinner at Japan’s Katsura Cafe. Counter service, fast, convenient, and a healthy, almost three-mile roundtrip walk.

Heavily motivated to take jungle jeff’s mind off of the fact that the first keynote speaking check should arrive with the mail. The wait was “killing him”.

The wonderfully cool evening air and mild attendance made it a wonderful distraction that paid off when we arrived home.

On a side note, Face Timed Cheryl at Disneyland (she’s there working for 10 days) and she got to see the opening of the envelope. A catalytic milestone earning the same fee Disney Institute commands.

Gave Barb a copy yesterday even though she didn’t ask.

 

During yesterday’s speech there was a moment where recognition was highlighted. And in the moment, raced to the back corner of the stage and grabbed from the small backpack the world’s best leadership book, Creating Magic: Ten Common Sense Leadership Strategies From A Life At Disney, by Lee Cockerell.

Told the Fortune 150 audience that the only reason i was standing in front of them now was because of Lee Cockerell.

Not a hard sell. Rather a seed planted for them on their executive leadership journey. And a small attempt to repay Lee for my biggest post Disney career break.

Insight: Was organized enough to have the book handy should an opportunity present itself.
