Just add action

behaviors trump intentions
Does this inspire or overwhelm you?

Just add action.

Learn like you mean it, but at some point you have to put more time into action than learning.

Learning can be a great excuse-justifier.

Unless someone presses you to see this in yourself (like i did with myself years ago), you never will.

It’s a vicious cycle of wanting to learn just a little more before you take your big risk.

But alas, risks may not work and you may lose your reputation, you may look like a fool, or you may cause a serious setback for your organization (and/or yourself).

As a bonus, all action becomes a higher-level learning curriculum.

No pain no gain

behaviors trump intentions
Behaviors trump intentions. You can (and should) organize your mantras.

No pain no gain.

My profession has a Hippocratic oath.

  • To offer the very best treatment.
  • Remain confidential.
  • Teach the next generation of teachers.

Medicine and medical treatment scares many.

This is why people fear hospitals.

To regain health, the unhealthy parts must be eradicated.

Unhealthy and unproductive habits and rituals that do not serve a person or an organization are the business equivalents of the medical profession.

There are multiple hells in our lifetime

verizon wifi
Loaded up the MiFi since the logic says, the East side will be your best bet with the Howe Ridge fire. Glacier National Park. Verizon is accessible several miles into the Park.

The things each of us has to deal with would make the next person weak.

And so it goes.

We think others are luckier, more privileged, smarter, less prone to bad things, and so on.

Everyone is going through a hell no one knows about.

There are multiple hells over our lifetime we must deal with.

Same for everyone.

This is not a valid reason to neglect the things we have control over – our choices.

Being disorganized aids the dream-killer codependency

Disney Keynote Speaker
As a teacher, especially a Disney teacher, i see and over-focus on things others under-focus on or ignore.

You know what is crazy?

How much people settle when they refuse to follow their passion.

It’s an insidious and pervasive habit around the world.

Why?

We are desensitized to the far-too-low limits we’ve placed on ourselves.

And we are desensitized to our abandoned dreams and hopes.

Live like you mean it. Life is not a dress rehearsal.

You’re never gonna feel like it (TED video)

So yeah, three consecutive days with 15+ minute videos.

Who’s got time?

(pssst, i watched them before i thought they were share-worthy)

If ya ain’t motivated, i get it.

And i can’t worry about the opportunities you take or don’t take.

i find solace in being a teacher.

And also find peace knowing this…

When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

And finally, i accept that the student may never be ready.
