How on Earth did this happen?

Lake McDonald
Since 2009, been coming here to write.

How on Earth did this happen?

Six days from beginning the ninth consecutive year of writing five daily, differently-themed blog posts about life’s five big choices: mind, body, spirit, work, home.

Back to, “How did this happen?”

i don’t know.

But i do know that i thrive on it.

Eighth Anniversary Eve

Lake McDonald
For the past four Summers, i’ve  written from here.

Eighth Anniversary Eve is today.

Eight years ago, on the eve of April Fools Day 2009, i was about to launch something that i thought was destined to fail.

Write five daily, differently-themed blog posts for 100 consecutive days.

So tomorrow, guess what, the ninth year begins.

When you ask yourself, what have i done to inspire myself, do you have a handful of astonishing accomplishments?

Falling asleep while blogging

statement of purpose
Yesterday i was struck by somemething the CEO said.

Falling asleep while blogging means it’s been a long day.

It began at 4am and now, just past 9pm, i’m finishing up the fifth daily post.

Ps. Just remembered that today, October 5, is the day Steve Jobs moved on to other worlds.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

The white space – no photo, no text, no message. No real life in real time.

i don’t think life would ever be the same.

Five-a-Day for 87 months without missing a single day, part 5. Five-a-Day for 87 months without missing a single day.

April Fool’s Day 2016 is 29 days away

April Fool’s Day 2016 is 29 days away. Highly unlikely this blogging streak is secretly incredible. No one cares. So in the scheme of the Universe it is absolutely a secret.

Dear Son, the trail i’m leaving may be something you discover one day, and for years to come you may lean on it for understanding, perspective, hope, and motivation.

There is also the distinct possibility, you never care about any of this. It’s a body of work that has accumulated one single, solitary day at a time. It may become overwhelming for you.
