They hit it off.

After the 5k, we returned home and began our Saturday routine.

My second floor home office faces East.

At my desk finishing loose ends from a busy travel week, i noticed Joann and her puppy where planting Spring flowers, so i gathered my Family to walk across the street to meet the new Bulldog puppy.

Rudy (two years old) the Irish Setter and our neighborhood wanderer, stopped by as well.

It was a refreshing visit for everyone.

This is phase 2. Five years ago we got a grocery store and a few other nice things. Prior to this complex, we had to drive 10 miles in any direction to reach the closest anything.

The motivation for living like this for so long?

Being close enough to watch Magic Kingdom fireworks and hear the steam train whistle.

No harm, no foul

Lehigh Valley Economic Development
Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce is our Country’s 2nd largest, yet competes with Lehigh Valley Economic Development.

No harm, no foul tonight.

Some go solely to compare.

Others go to genuinely reconnect.

Although Facebook, FaceTime, texting and Skype have made reunions less necessary, there’s something about a 40th High School reunion.

Looking forward to not knowing anyone and still having the time of my life.

No harm, no foul, right?

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Build your home in the path of progress

Construction of Florida Hospital Winter Garden
Yesterday after a haircut and lunch at Fowler Groves.

Love to snap an occasional photo as a local hospital goes up.

It reminds me that there’s prevailing wisdom that says, “Build your home in the path of progress, before the progress is talked about.”

Done.

Now, 25 years after moving in, we are on the verge of having a local Hospital.

Survival of the fittest?

Windermere Prep Gym
WPS volleyball practice yesterday.

Florida Hawk eating it's prey
Came home from football game to see hawk having a meal.

Nature is organized so that is comes down to a simple premise, survival of the fittest. Same with High School sports.

In the gym because of the football game lightning delay, we watched the girls volleyball team practice for 30 minutes. The coach was running them through one drill after another.

Why?

So they can compete and hopefully, win.

Came home to a hawk in the front yard. We could tell it had caught some prey but couldn’t tell what. And then as we pulled into the drive it became clear…it was a squirrel. Too heavy for the hawk to fly away.

One must die so another might live.

Life is both beautiful and brutal.
