Lack of conveniences reveals life’s fundamental blessings. Shelter, love, health.

We knew the ‘exact day’ our son was to be born.
It was in the middle of Disney Institute’s (DI) annual busiest three weeks the year.
And i was the newest person on the DI team.
Don’t even think about asking for vacation time.
Imagine my surprise when i was listed as a ‘floater’ on the DI schedule during those three weeks.
And sure enough, the first week of ‘all hands on deck‘ — nearly three weeks early — our son decides to call an audible.
Having my boss at the time, Tom Madden, ensure, without me asking, that i’d not have to worry about being there for our son’s birth is the greatest Disney recognition i ever received. Greater even than the two Disney Lifetime Achievement awards.
