Hope and all that goes with it

Small, nimble, creative, resourceful, enthusiastic. The epitome of innovative.

If you are only worried about price, you will worry about overpaying, and we’re not going to be able to work this out.

Why?

The price you need to pay will be much higher than you want and it will also be much lower than i want.

At the same time, it will be an incredibly fair price if we agree and get started.

If we go with no deal, we both miss an opportunity.

One of us is equipped with organizational vibrancy for moving on as if nothing happened.

The other will be in the same situation without any viable, expert guide.

Hope and everything that goes with it, like a plan and commitment, will be literally impossible to find.

This is a business example for when i lean on the serenity prayer.

You are on stage every day

Intermission at the Walt Disney theater. Photo taken from the edge of the stage. The performers must perform even if they’re not feeling well.

Separating onstage from backstage is a key component of the Disney Magic.

Onstage is defined as anywhere that a Cast Member can see strollers and babies. Backstage is anywhere that you can’t.

On stage is not only a physical place, it’s also a psychological place, and you must act like there’s nowhere else you’d rather be even if that’s not true.

As an adult, especially if you are a parent, you do this all the time when you’re around young people.

‘Tis the season to be onstage – all day, everyday.

Are you organized with your structure and processes to live like this? What if you were? Why aren’t you? Or, how does this sound, how does it feel to know that you’ve overcome the way you used to be? Remembering how it felt impossible and comparing that to how it feels now, what advice would you have for others who are feeling that it’s impossible now?

Always is a big word

Yesterday this hit social media.

Always is a big word.

Always?

i quote…

Jeff epitomizes creativity, #leadership and excitement, and he always shows it.

Thinking Heads

Thinking Heads asked for a short “Happy 15th birthday” video from all their speakers. While in Glacier National Park, i recorded several. Thinking Heads picked the one above from the two i submitted. Here’s the other one (watch Mickey Mouse, not me)…

Travel like Jesus?

Carrying a huge camera has been out of my comfort zone since our son was born. i was standing on top of the SUV with my iPhone (camera). Photo: Glacier National Park.
My camera of choice since 2000 has always been able to fit in my front pocket.

Travel like Jesus?

What?

Jesus traveled only with what he was wearing, and maybe a stick.

So i’ll be close.

Leaving this morning with the layered merino-wool cloths on my back, and a small day pack.

In the pack is a toiletry bag, a small electronics bag (charging cables, etc), hat, gloves, bandana, one pair running shorts.

A sport jacket (USATF) will be worn or hand carried depending on temperature.

Why?

Freedom to be present and unencumbered.

Hello again, Pennsylvania.

Facebook is the new cigarettes

Up at 8,200′ i can think in ways i never can when in the midst of the hustle and bustle.

Know someone who smokes?

How many times a day do they smoke a cigarette?

How long does each cigarette take to smoke?

How much does a smoker’s health improve after each cigarette?

Now think about how many times someone you know checks Facebook.

How many times?

How long does each look at their status updates take?

Do you see where this post is going?

The reason i quit personal Facebook is the same reason i quit smoking – it wasn’t good for me.
