Details are a virus

QuickBooks mail in receipts
A new feature from Quickbooks – mail them your receipts and they will automatically link it to the expense charge. One more way to become more efficient. How? The receipt happens in real time. The charge takes days to hit your account – this time-lapse creates the need for a search for every receipt for every charge. Nothing outrageous, but over time, takes time. Now i can send the receipt the day i take the photo. No more searching days later.

Details are a virus.

The paperwork of life – as CEO of You, Inc. – never stops.

This irrefutable fact does one of two things to people.

It buries them and causes lifelong stress.

It motivates them to find organized and scalable solutions.

It’s challenging work either way.

One way causes suffering.

One way causes freedom from this type of suffering.

PS. So far, Quickbooks has not delivered on the promise.

Rare Family trip to the Mall

Lenscrafters exam

Lenscrafters fitting

Mall at Millenia Christmas
Mall at Millenia Christmas decorations. Just a random moment walking down the staircase.

Apple Store iPhone cases
Apple Store iPhone cases. None of the colors inspired me to get a second case. Already have the middle one (Olive).

Wifi outlet
Bought one at the Apple Store. Control it from an iPhone.

Saturday morning errands.

Spend Health Care Flex Spending money before year end – pick out eye-glasses frame.

Visit Apple Store, just because we were in the building.

The in-box of life doesn’t stop until we die

Apple alarm clock
Wasn’t trying to catch up on the sleep i lost the night before. It’s called exhaustion.

The in-box of life doesn’t stop until we die.

If we are unable – and mine is overflowing right now – to manage this, it has nowhere to go but “worse”.

My goal is to never let it get so bad that i give up.

So in times like now – when it’s piling up – i have to work overtime to get in back in control.

Such is the ebb and flow of life’s in-box.

Days are long and years fly by

Uber map
Yesterday morning in KY, heading to Orlando.

Southwest Airlines
Departure at 10:30am.

Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines Customer Appreciation Day, September 20, 2017 (yesterday).

Southwest Airlines Customer Appreciation
Southwest Airlines Customer Appreciation table of goodies.

Highline Trail.
Wondering if the trails (Hidden lake and Highline) will be free of snow next week.

IOS 11
IOS 11 came out yesterday.

GNP webcam
Heading to Logan Pass in one week. Visitor Center (roof at bottom) is open until September 30.

Up at 5:00am like normal.

Write for a couple hours.

Breakfast (randomly, and serendipitously, this time with a few clients) in the hotel lobby.

Catch Uber to airport.

Stop at gym on way home from Orlando airport.

Pick up son after swim practice.

Frozen pizza in oven.

Unpack.

Start watching recording of America’s Got Talent final show (before live results come on at 8pm).

Hear the news from Cheryl that Dad’s Nursing Home is recommending Hospice for Dad.

Go to bed remembering what i wrote in Mid Life Celebration: rethink • reprioritize • recommit

The three most magnificent days in our life are the day we are born, the day we figure out why, and the day we die.

Praying Dad sees it the same way.

Dad is 91.

He’s ready.

And i believe he’s been praying for his third most magnificent day.
