Thumbs up

Disney diaper changing station
Outsiders will never think like insiders. Only Disney is going to over-focus on the same things others under-focus on or ignore. Four rolls of toilet paper at the diaper changing station? Absolutely.

Thumbs up.

That’s what i present when someone cuts me off or nearly causes an accident. That and a prayer for the driver.

Used to offer the center finger. And no prayer. Ever.

Becoming a dad, and a Disney Institute teacher required a higher standard from someone who is preaching the highest standards.

Same on the local streets.

When you change what you see, what you see changes.

Dear son, this would have been impossible for me in my 20’s, 30’s and 40’s.

Intentionally negative

Mile 8. Then a two-mile cool down to a walk.

When you change what you see, what you see changes.

New runners are programmed to believe that the longer you run, the slower your speed becomes.

Why?

Because the body gets tired.

Like when you do pull-ups, the more you do, the harder each successive pull-up becomes.

.think .differently

Or don’t .think .differently

As a lifelong sprinter, for me to run 10 miles without stopping is a miracle.

To run eight consecutive miles with negative splits is astonishing.

To make mile eight as a sub-seven-minute mile is remarkable.

To do this in my late 50’s, as a sprinter, is extraordinary.

Perfect example of growth mindset.

Note: well aware there is a few second difference for mile 5 and 6. I’m not a machine who can lock into an exact pace. The spirit and intention was negative splits. Being off by a few actual seconds doesn’t diminish the intentionality to run eight consecutive negative mile-splits.

Note: Closed mindset would be a person arguing that miles 5 and 6 technically aren’t negative. Technically no. Psychologically yes.

Present and mindful

sermon note taking piece
What if? Such a great question.

Present and mindful is a go-to habit for every second of every day.

Auto-pilot.

Being present is a great tool for shedding life’s negativity.

Repeatedly.

Son, you will encounter milestones when you question people you have always trusted. Your friends will present to you behavior you never saw coming. Take your surprise and simply trust.

Trust.

Trust the Universe, God, Karma, or whatever positive energy you believe in.

Do not cry out nor try to defend yourself, for wisdom teaches it will only enlarge the surprise.

Thank God for the present moment.

The blessing is unexpected truth-revelation.

Be remarkably grateful.

The long haul with Covid’s impact (the great resignation, mask/no mask, vax/no vax, etc, various locally shared issues, personal issues, and now WW3 looming with Russia…life, worry, fear, anxiety…humanity is being crushed by the never-ending weight of world order and decency disappearing.

Five things

hand written notes
Five traits: Honesty, behave admirably, personal responsibility, self-control, initiative.

Five things:

  1. How much time we spend in the sun?
  2. What gym do you go to?
  3. What church do you go to?
  4. Where is your shop?
  5. What kind of desk do you have?

Here’s what those questions are designed to reveal:

  1. How much time you spend inside.
  2. Whether or not strength is important.
  3. Whether or not you prioritize serving others.
  4. Discover if you are self-employed.
  5. Discover what structure and process you have at home.

All anyone should want

Family of three next to Christmas tree
Blogging in the moment and using real time, same day photos.

That Mariah Carey song, all 3/4 of a billion YouTube views…

i don’t want a lot for Christmas.

There is just one thing i need.

All i want for Christmas is you.
