July 23 and 24, reverse wildcard, home

Glacier National Park (GNP). Lake McDonald Lodge. We will miss staying here this year. It’s on GNP’s West side. We are spending all of 2026 on the East side.

Calling tomorrow’s departure ‘the start of our Glacier 2026 Farewell Tour.’

Only 31 days this year.

We’ll hit four great regions:

Swiftcurrent and Many Glacier Valleys
St Mary
East Glacier
Rising Sun and Logan Pass

This is the first Summer since 2017 we haven’t had a Sperry Chalet or Granite Park Chalet reservation.

Off the map, home

What does ‘off the map’ mean?

It means you are stepping back to a time when our ancestors walked past the village line and ventured out into the unknown.

It means you could die, or at the very least severely and permanently injure yourself. Depending how ‘deep in’ you are, no one may know for a few days.

Gone country, home
