Last night, I purposefully had a meeting at 8:00PM.

Just me and President Obama.

Well, sort of.

You may have been there too.

The number of men and women who died in Iraq.

George Washington, our Nation’s first President started his meetings with prayer.

I wonder why? Seemed obvious, and relevant back then, but prayer is not something that is typically part of business today.

Perhaps it could be. George’s attitude towards life and success may still be relevant today. God Bless America, as President Obama closed his speech.

But it requires one thing that most people overlook.

And this one overlooked skill is the critical difference between a clean desk and a messy desk.

Decisiveness.

Think about it.

You must decide, all day, everyday, what to do, what to keep, where to put things, what to discard, what to ignore, how to prioritize, etc.

All day.

Everyday.

It never ends.

And then you should decide what you believe and get busy, right here, right now.

Being Organized Helps

These Are For You (Happy Birthday)

Being organized helps you remember important things, like birthdays.

I’m pretty certain you can all relate to this.

Happy birthday today to my Mom!

I wasn’t so organized last week, when I missed my step-Mom’s birthday by a day.

I saw it coming a mile away. Every year it’s the same. It’s the last week in August (predictably) when two very special women celebrate their birthdays.

What we do thunders so loudly, people can’t hear what we say.

We must have the determination and perseverance to continuously try to improve our attitude when we stumble, even as we get older.
