Did you post on Facebook that you voted?

Hey look at me, i sent a thank you package to someone. Aren’t i great? See how weird this is? i don’t need to share this because people know i consistently do this stuff.

Did you post on Facebook that you voted?

All of those “I voted” photos strike me as weird.

What is the point?

In America, the adult expectation is that you vote. Why would anyone have to state the obvious?

Think about it.

No smart, free person would not vote.

So now is it an expectation that you post “I voted” pics?

And what if you don’t post a photo?

(gasp, he didn’t vote, is that our new worry?)

This is how herd-mentality starts.

.think .differently

Ps. My belief is this: if your reputation for personal responsibility is solid, everyone will know you voted – because they’d never believe you didn’t vote.

Still writing those Disney books

Disney business authors
Last week’s writing stats. Still writing those Disney books.

Still writing those Disney books.

Seven.

That’s a lot of effort.

Then there’s the business – 2018 is by far the best year ever.

And remember that 2017 was ah-mazing.

So yeah, 2018 is much better than i expected.

September through December business came in that has thrown a book-writing curve ball.

i’ll figure it out.

Once again, a great reminder why you should never announce a due date for impossible goals.

The paperwork of life and the proverbial inbox.

It never ends.

Get good great at keeping your calendar (and everything) organized.

Being organized frees you in a way that being disorganized can’t fathom.

i know because i used to be disorganized…going with the flow…entertained, medicated, and distracted.

As low as $21

personal checkbook
Personal checkbook starting the week we arrived in Florida. We deposited (top line) all the money we (combined) had from the Washington State University credit union (Cheryl was an employee at WSU)…$1398.33. 10 days later we had $410.13 to our name (bottom right).

One year later (August 30, 1985) we had $639.23 to our name.

Three years after arriving to Orlando our (bottom right) balance is $21.23.

personal checkbook
Our five-year Orlando-arrival anniversary has us at $71.08.

Our checkbook balance was as low as $21 during our first five years at Disney.

And even at the five-year mark, we are at $71.

It was helpful for Chapin to see (last night) where we started because he’s never seen us struggle financially.

Truth is, we struggled the first 25 years of our (currently) 35-year marriage.

“Congrats and thank you”, says your future self in 10 years

Kane Brown
Last night (7:22pm), stumbled upon this.

A decade from now, your future self is going to thank you for something you did this month.

You did something new.

Something different.

Something better.

And it may even have been the elimination of a tendency or habit you had. Stopping something is also new. Also a seed.

Either way…

You planted the seed of a new habit.

“Congrats and thank you”, says your future self in 10 years.
