Would you mind if we substituted 30 for one?

St Mary Lake
Driving by and not stopping it literally impossible.

A simple dinner from food in our rental car trunk at 6,650 feet and we were happy. Afterwards, we descended back to the East side to look for bears. Almost immediately we saw a solitary elk at Two Dog Flats. But we waited and kept watching the lone elk. Minutes later, a dozen more appeared from the forest’s right edge. Watching through the small binoculars came motion from the left. Two dozen more elk. A nice way to end the day.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Luck favors the prepared

It looked different as we left to drive back to Glacier.

i can’t make up a name like this.

The return to dinner at Rising Sun was followed by an early evening drive to Two Dog Flats to look for a bear.

We got lucky almost immediately.

Like we were back in college

Highland Trail hike
Wow.

Highland Trail hike
The easy part was ridiculously easy.

Sun is going down.

Sun still illuminating the 9k+ foot Reynolds Mountain.

Looking East, Logan Pass parking lot is almost empty at 8pm.

Two Dog Flats
Brief drive just past Rising Sun to Two Dog Flats for a quick try at bear spotting.

Dinner at Logan Pass last night included leftovers from lunch (at Swiftcurrent) and other items we purchased the day we arrived but hadn’t yet touched. It was nice to have the spontaneity to improvise. This wouldn’t have happened had we not been decently organized.

Whenever I don’t feel inspired

Only the inspired inspire. Whenever I don’t feel inspired – which is insanely rare these days – i simply tell myself to figure it out, quickly.

Plan and execute your plan

Walmart coolers
We got three.

We packed well. We stopped at Target and Walmart. We had a list. We’re here a week.
