The time to worry about it is when you don’t need to

Started to listen to Christmas Music yesterday, prompted by an email from Apple Music. Yesterday, used bluetooth to connect to a small Bose speaker. Right now, just using the phone as it sits on the desk next to this laptop,

One of the guiding visions i use to motivate me to reduce, reuse, and recycle is the vision of moving into an assisted-living facility, and having a one-bedroom efficiency apartment.

Part two of that vision is moving to a nursing home room with two beds, one for me and one for my roommate. We’ll each get half a room for all our stuff.

It inspires me to be intentional now.

And in the process, be a role model for our teenager and my wife.

Grab your pan and broom

Spring cleaning can happen at any time. It can happen more than once a year.

The goal is to shed the non-essentials, which is almost everything.

Think about your final years, what will you absolutely need and want if your living space was remarkably smaller than it is today.

It felt like it would take forever to see progress

Honda van — Much of what we purge is donated to Goodwill. Once a month we literally fill the van with stuff from a 38-year life together.

Every Tuesday (yesterday) i put as many recyclables and as much trash as i can into the two Orange County provided bins.

When i first began the 2017 purging process, it felt like it would take forever to see progress.

After 10 weeks, i can see it.

Slow and steady wins the race.
