Untethered with conformity

The photo upload function on WordPress has been broken since migrating my website hosting to a different platform.

Untethered with conformity, that’s what children are by default.

Still taking risks, by default.

As we redo our two upstairs bathrooms for the first time since building them in 1992, the technology advancements are exciting.

A waterless hot water heater. Motion-detection on/off sinks. No-touch sensor for the toilet flush. Apps to turn the shower on and off.

Because the master bathroom is having a transformation, we extended this into the bedroom, out into the hallway, and down the steps – all of it getting redone.

The way every room opens up when untethered by window treatments is exhilarating. It reminds us of when the home was being built. Raw natural energy, the inside and the outside seemed like one, not two places.

Highest recommendation for this Naval podcast episode

Naval podcast
Loved this, even though at two hours long, it took several tries to complete.
Naval podcast
Just some context.

Naval Ravikant has a two-hour guest podcast appearance at Farnam Street here.

This is not a one-sitting listen. It can be, but it certainly wasn’t for me. It validated many things and it stimulated thoughts that few others can.

It has my highest recommendation for anyone seeking meaning and deeper perspective.

Future Disney Speaker Podcast episodes

Disney Keynote Speaker
Branding. Repetition.

Additional ideas, in the form of Disney stories, will round out the first 5-10 episodes.

Also, a short riff on what to expect…just know that instead of business vibrancy, expect to be challenged with having personal vibrancy.

There is no room for the status quo, no tolerance for mediocrity.

None.

Period.

Yet in a busy, challenging world, we let things slide simply as a survival tactic.

Deadly.

What we accept by default becomes the standard.

Then people call me and ask if i can help them “Magically” solve their unsolvables.

i’m good, but i’m not a miracle worker.

i do, however, possess the secret formula for world-class organizational vibrancy.

So we meet in the middle.

i offer them the blueprints, they attempt to rebuild.

Email welcome to jeff noel’s Podcast

Disney Podcast with jeff noel
Continuously improve: Just realized i need to craft a welcome to the podcast and thanks for signing up email. Good thing i love to write and am decently organized, thanks to Disney wisdom.

Email welcome to jeff noel’s Podcast:

Happy present moment, ________.

Welcome to a unique community of motivated and curious people. Congratulations on taking the risk. You’ll thank yourself later.

Bold statement? Sure. Walt Disney was bold. He’s inspired many dreamers to be bold. But for now, let us be the first to say, “Thanks.”

Why?

Among your most valuable assets in your life is your time and attention.

Choosing to invest your time and attention here is a gift to yourself.

How?

We all struggle to find peace and contentment in a busy, noisy, crowded world—a world full of people jumping up and down, hands raised high, shouting “Pick me, pick me!” In reality, you’ve picked yourself.

To invest 15 minutes every Friday to have fun, .think .differently, and (gently) lean into discomfort is a powerful and wise choice.

It would not be inappropriate to high five yourself right now.

When was the last time you high-fived yourself?

Thanks for investing three seconds to have fun and lean into discomfort.

Finally, a reminder that just below your conscious awareness, you can envision your future being better than now, and not only better than now, but much better.

Please know we’ll work hard to keep future emails shorter than this one – just enough words to tee up the newest If Disney Ran Your Life episode.

Be amazed and be amazing.

Episode 2: If Disney Ran Your Life.

Show notes from Jody Maberry.

Dates are important in your culture. Whether it is your family culture or your organizational culture.

On January 25, 1982, I began my career with Disney. On January 25, 2019, I launched my podcast.

If you can pick a date and tie it to something meaningful. You have a better chance of remembering it.

During this episode, I will explain how Disney has used dates to build stories and celebrate new beginnings.

We all have the same calendar, but you can use dates to .think .differently

To be the best is difficult. To be different is easy. But it requires intentionality and risk-taking.

Make the calendar part of your story.

Year over year, you will be reminded of victories, defeats, accomplishments, and anniversaries as these dates become part of your story and culture.
