Out for an early run before an all day workshop last month. Was struck by two others on the St. Francis Xavier University track. One my age jogging slowly, and this one (center, right), maybe 80-something, walking slowly.

Couldn’t help but wonder how many times she felt like quitting. And what she has done to not.

Don’t Quit Because You’re A Beginner, Quit Because It Brings You No Joy

Recently had a tough conversation with someone I love dearly. They wanted to quit – because they’re a beginner and it’s hard when you’re a beginner. And quitting only takes a second to accomplish.

In minutes, I needed to formulate a rational. It seemed obvious we’ll always be beginners. Life continuously throws us new challenges. Therefore, if you’re going to quit, quit for the right reason, not one that is habit forming.
