Captiva Day 4, home

Google Maps in Florida
There’s a minimum of four hours due to traffic and a rest stop.
business history story mounted on a wall
We loved the original. A short drive from Mitchell’s Sandcastles, all those years. The new location and new building is “Island Magic”.
7-second video: As fresh as it gets. Cheryl is around the corner viewing the OEC ‘history wall’.

We got to talk with one of the owners who we met on our first visit years ago. Thanked her for the miracle of her and her family rebuilding not once, but twice, in only two years.

Enjoyed a hearty breakfast and by 9:30 AM, we hit the road for home.

Ps. Hope to be back again soon.

Dinner and a sunset.

The sunset happened before our salads arrived. It’s a tiny sun in this picture but it’s a big moment to not miss it.
Sunset
Same sun as in the previous picture.
16-second video: Always a blessing to watch the sun disappear from our view as it begins to appear in someone else’s.

Knowing we drive home tomorrow is a cool feeling.

Why?

Because our goal for this trip was simple.

Reconnaissance.

Pretty cool.

The pelican flew within feet of us. We enjoyed the closeness without guilt for our closeness.

Overall, day one on Captiva Island was excellent.
