Today marks the beginning of the seventh year.

Hard to believe what began on April Fools Day 2009 as a 100-day, self imposed, kick-your-butt writer’s bootcamp has blossomed into something remarkably different.

Honestly didn’t think it would last 100 days.

Maybe it was the sheer magnitude of the impossibility that allowed writing five daily, differently-themed blogs to succeed.

If your goal isn’t impossible, you’re not reach high enough.

An hour and a comfort zone

Top Disney Customer Service speakers

What is the meaning of life? My high school classmate’s (Lorie Sheffer) son Ian (and daughter-in-law Michelle) is featured as the moderator for a talk by Edward O. Wilson, who is a professor emeritus at Harvard University and the recipient of two Pulitzer Prizes. His many books include, “The Future of Life” and “The Social Conquest of Earth.”

The clip here is worth watching, but only if you have an hour and only if having your convictions seriously challenged is something you enjoy.

Work that takes so long and is so hard that it is never finished or never begun

Mid Life Celebration check book
Haven’t written enough checks in five years to move to a second booklet… feels good

Turned in 2013 paperwork for Mid Life Celebration’s tax preparation yesterday April 3, 2014.

Not many checks get written, but the Visa card gets a serious monthly workout.

What are we called to do?

For the past 63 months (five years worth plus Jan-Mar this year), MLC has spent $1,000/month in building a platform and a solid foundation on which to raise money for a cure.

Some would ask cynically, why not just donate $63,000 to CCFA?

A low risk ,short term approach thinks this way.

A bold, crazy mind thinks about impossible.

Very few breakthroughs come without hard work. Long work.

Work that takes so long and is so hard that it is never finished or never begun.

Make no small plans.

Life is not a dress rehearsal.

A little two-step action for emergencies?

Kindle screen shot
Kindle – the thing we need to do to get a fire started.

Step one: Remember to pull both three-ring binders off the closet shelf and place them near the desk.

Step two: Good luck finding time to look through them again without getting completely distracted from other priorities.

What’s been holding me back is what holds us all back

WordCamp Orlando game
Upper middle message = FREEDOM. You are the CEO of You, Inc (when you finally decide to be)

Awoke at 4:00am this morning with a directive, because last night I stumbled upon Kevin O’Leary’s website.

Completely random. Unintentional.

But.

An admirer, and follower, of Shark Tank.

The directive is to make a command decision and try to get the new website design done in six days, by Thanksgiving Day 2013.

What’s been holding me back is what holds us all back.

Indecision.

At least I think so.
