Some visual aids

Ignorance is no defense is a Pastor quote. i added “loud noise” as a reflex response.
Pastor quote above.

A four-part short-video series to document a habitual level of loud neighbor noise for extended periods.

After the video above, the noise subsided for 10 minutes. The PA system was not adjusted. Shot this video and sent it to my neighbor who had just a minute before texted me asking if i can hear the Church noise. Already on it.

The lower noise volume didn’t last long, so the Sheriff non-emergency line was called. The Orange County Sheriff met me at the neighbor’s house (the neighbor adamantly approved of this), agreed on the code violation, and responded at the Church. This helped but required a second call to Sheriff. Five hours of neighborhood disturbing the peace.

Neighbor unhesitatingly allowed me to enter his back yard and go to the chain link fence to shoot the above video.

Ten days later, on December 23, this…our neighbors dealt with this…(video below)…from the public street…

Not every neighbor subjected to the loud noise is a Christian. To disrespect someone else’s peace has a line. Does a religious group get a neighborhood exemption? Week after week, month after month?

Today’s audio and visual aids (videos) support the context.

Being well prepared creates a calm and confidence that every Pastor (even the ones preaching the Gospel according to Walt) needs to walk with.

To be continued…

Electrifying?

Apple Keynote slide deck screen shot
Brainstorming a Keynote speech. Since 1999, have never heard someone describe my presentation as electrifying. Felt decent. Why? Because on the Zoom meeting, there were three other “world-famous” Disney Speakers. Going first, there was no second chance to change the “kickoff” energy.

You know what word is rarely used as feedback?

Electrifying.

It happened in the Zoom chat yesterday.

Electrifying?

Really?

Wow.

For a teacher to be associated with electrifying is quite a compliment.

If you’ve ever been accused of being electrifying, let there be enough evidence to convict you.

Happy present moment.

Hell’s Kitchen origin story

Mickey Mouse and Cheryl Noel
Cheryl’s Disney Retirement after 36 Magical years of Service in Human Resources. Her first role was Merchandise Hostess at Disney’s Village Marketplace (now Disney Springs).

No, Jeff’s Kitchen is not Hell’s Kitchen. Well, not the screaming part. But the highest standards part, 100%!

What makes Disney thrive through unprecedented growth is the same thing that makes Disney thrive through catastrophic economic crisis.

In a word…

Culture.

Think of Olympic-Finals Culture as…

Organizational Vibrancy.

If you want to be in the Olympic finals, what type of coach will you enlist?

A blinding flash of the obvious.

The very best coach.

What makes “The” very best coach is subjective, of course.

Using your intuition, what criteria are must-have, need-to-have, and nice-to–have?

For the discerning executive owner, Jeff Noel is the only choice.

Imagine having a 30-year Disney Leadership veteran at your disposal. Then add the bonus of Jeff’s second 15 years at world-renowned Disney Institute as a full-time Speaker and Business Advisor to a Who’s Who of Global Industry.

You understand the obvious: Five industry-neutral organizational pillars:

  1. Leaders
  2. Employees
  3. Customers
  4. Reputation
  5. Improvement

Then, and this is the Holy Grail, you get Jeff’s 19 Organizational Vibrancy blueprints – the “must-have” architectural blueprints for world-class Company Culture.

Literally, the recipe for competitive immunity.

The most powerful attractant for the world’s best and brightest leaders and employees.

The scaleable, sustainable customer service architecture that is fail-proof.

The secrets to creating an employee, customer, and stakeholder loyalty that is a category of one.

The world-class organizational DNA – a culture where great ideas have no choice but to flourish.

If it all sounds too good to be true – and it always does for anyone or any organization that isn’t after the proverbial Olympic finals results – follow your gut instinct.

What is your desired career accomplishment level?

Liberace quote
Las Vegas…Liberace says, “I don’t give concerts. I put on a show.”

This post is a repeat of today’s second post. Why? Repetition helps us learn.

Do the reps.

Never get bored with the basics.

What is your desired Career accomplishment level?

From this longer more nuanced list, pick the level number you desire for your Organizational Vibrancy, once again using the 5k runner analogy:

  1. Olympic Gold and World Record
  2. Olympic Gold and Olympic Record
  3. Olympic Gold
  4. Olympic podium silver or bronze
  5. Olympic finals
  6. Olympic Team
  7. Olympic trails, qualify to attend
  8. Nationals Gold, American record
  9. Nationals Gold, Meet record
  10. Nationals Gold
  11. Nationals podium silver or bronze
  12. Nationals finals
  13. Nationals, qualify to attend
  14. Conference podium, Gold, Collegiate record
  15. Conference podium, Gold
  16. Conference podium, silver or bronze
  17. Conference, finals
  18. Conference Championships, qualify to to attend
  19. College Team school record
  20. College Varsity Team
  21. College recreational runner
  22. HS State Championships Gold, State Record
  23. HS State Championships Gold
  24. HS State Championships, podium silver or bronze
  25. HS State Championships finals
  26. HS Districts podium Gold, District record
  27. HS Districts podium silver or bronze
  28. HS Districts finals
  29. HS Districts, qualify to attend
  30. HS Varsity Team, school record
  31. HS Varsity Team
  32. Recreational runner
  33. No interest in athletics nor competition

How do you feel about your level? Excited, scared, overwhelmed, underwhelmed?

What’s next?

Why?

It’s a Small World

Three Disney Leaders
George Kalogridis served as Walt Disney World President for several years. George and i worked together at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Cheryl worked with George in various Human Resources capacities through her 36-year Disney Career.

It is a small world at Disney. Almost every leader starts out on the front line in an hourly role.

Jungle Jeff at Disney’s World-Famous Jungle Cruise attraction in Adventureland, in 1982.

Cheryl as a Merchandise Hostess in the Christmas Shoppe and the Garden Shop at The Disney Village Marketplace, in 1984.

George as a busser (clearing plates, etc from restaurant tables) at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Hotel, in 1971.

Disney is a leadership machine. So many talented leaders.

One leaves, one easily is replaced. Maybe not initially, but in due time, you become a memory.

This is a bitter pill at first, until you realize it’s a cultural phenomena.

You take solace on who you served, how you served, and why you served.

This is the way.
