Knowing the truth is dangerous

HP Instant Ink program
HP knows when i need new ink cartridges. i never have to worry about it. Ever. They simply mail them just before i run out.

Homeowner meeting sign
Yesterday this sign went up at our neighborhood entrance. Had completed the form a week ago, but forgot to drop it off. So i took a photo (further down) of the form and emailed it last night. Email would have been a great choice from the start, no?

Pat Sajak
From a TV recording last night. Jungle Pat (Sajak) at the World Famous Jungle Cruise – they were filming here (WDW) the past week.

homeowner picnic form
We were asked to drop it off in the homeowner mailbox, rather than mail it…this saved everyone 50-cents.

ATT notice
Password required? Somehow the stored password wasn’t working and i had created a safari-generated password so i had no idea what it was when i was asked to login last night. i fixed it the old-fashioned way – i created my own..

Knowing the truth is dangerous because once you know the architecture for being organized, you have no good excuse for not being organized.

You have to change if the way you’re currently living is in stark contrast to what it takes to live an organized life.

Trying hard to not think epically

Lake McDonald
This morning’s Twitter feed for Glacier National Park. This view is standard from Village Inn at Apgar.

Trying hard to not think epically.

So far it’s not working very well.

To complete all seven Disney Business Books this Summer wil be epic.

To complete them in Glacier National Park will be epic.

To launch a new VIP Executive Retreat experience in Glacier will be epic.

To be able to walk away if an Executive doesn’t see the life-changing value…powerfully epic.

That the first writing trip is less than two months away is epic.

The fact that i am considering this my final Summer for the 10-year plan i began in 2009 – epic.

Safety is our number one priority at Disney and at home

unwanted neighborhood solicitation
As i was leaving our driveway to pick up our Son at school yesterday.

unwanted neighborhood solicitation
i sat in my car for a minute or two while he did the same. Then he got out and i deduced he was a contracted delivery person.

spam
Placing items, any items, in private mailboxes is a federal offense.

When you live somewhere long enough, you know when something is out of place. And because it’s on your street, you instinctively pay attention and evaluate any threat level.

Safety is our number one priority at Disney and at home.

Safety is baked into the fabric of our daily existence.

As i drove down our street, thinking he was a legitimate delivery contractor, i noticed he placed something in a second mailbox, and as i did a U-turn to drive back to our driveway, he placed something in a third mailbox.

We had a nice chat.

i felt bad for being the messenger.

He felt bad for not knowing.

i’ll never know if he knew or didn’t know.

An entrepreneurial riff never hurt anyone

edgy
Edgy, to say the least.

You’re an entrepreneur.

Compelled to compete.

Desiring to dominate.

Hyperbole?

Or, perhaps, maybe just to survive.

You may want to leave a legacy and transform and influence an industry.

That’s the ultimate goal only achieved by the elite lucky few.

But daring to dream is what makes us human.

The stark reality is that to compete and dominate you need to obsess about where this fast-changing world is heading.

You can’t ignore reality any longer.

So what are smart successful entrepreneurs focusing on?

Rupturing industry stereotypes.

Becoming a category of one.

Hyperbole?

Momentum is changing because a few key attributes

flight map
Last night. Grateful for a 2-hour non-stop flight home, and for carrying only the small Glacier National Park backpack.

Momentum with my Orlando-based Disney Keynote speaking is changing because a few key attributes, consistently done, are eroding the old beliefs, the old reality, the old expectations.

  • Vision
  • Perseverance
  • Tenacity
  • Enthusiasm
  • Belief
  • Innovation
  • Fun
  • Hope

Simplicity is the ultimate life hack.
