August 15, brought a 3-day old baby home to stay

Broken organization is tempting but not an option

Broken organization is tempting, but not an option.

i was 90 miles from home on a college campus visit near Tampa. Upon arrival, a tire went flat. i was also expected back home in three hours; quick trip.

Having a spare
Having AAA insurance
Having the three-month old receipt for the four brand new tires
Having initiative to let the College President know i’ll need to address this during our meeting

Take out one of the above and the unexpected situation gets harder.

Remove any two, harder still.

Three, and it’s literally a meltdown.

Few things in life are as powerful as being decently organized

Disney leadership book author — Yesterday morning…didn’t feel like running. Riding to the gym, i knew i could detour one block to write at Disney World.

Disney book covers — Amazon sends emails my way about Disney books. i keep a folder of the many uses of the word Disney on all these book covers.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Cop or a parent

Claudette, the Housekeeping manager at the Village Inn at Apgar, and i spoke several times during my two-night stay. Complimented her on her leadership and attention to details.

She said her job is like being a cop and a parent.

That’s exactly how to explain leadership in a layperson’s terms.
