We all want it, but we basically want it to be easy

Paradoxical that the idea of being decently organized appeals to everyone, but the idea of getting, and staying, organized appeals to so few.

i’ve lived on this planet long enough to know without a doubt that my life is infinitely easier when i’ve been organized versus disorganized.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Tired or uninspired, that is the question

Insight about personal ambition
From Facebook yesterday.

This blog is about HQ, which is another way of saying, home.

Your home.

The place were you dwell.

Where you keep all your stuff.

The paperwork of life.

HQ.

Head Quarters.

You are the CEO of You, Inc.

i caught myself because in the moment i was organized

Management quote
This was a sign. A good sign.

i caught myself because, in the moment, i was organized.

Organized with my temptation.

Wait. What?

Yes, temptation.

So, i quickly paused and let her answer her question first. She asked me:

What did you think of the speaker?

As i began to answer, i stopped and redirected it back to her, and her answer echoed my own first impressions.

Inspiration often lacks a plan, or as i like to call it, organizational architecture.

Because she said it first…

It brought me great solace.

And yes, i’m leaving something out intentionally. Please feel free to use your imagination.

Happy Ground Hog Day 2016.

Ted Cruz and Hillary Clinton won last night’s Iowa caucus.

But today, in reality, is (now) May 12.

What happened 100 days ago (when i wrote this) is long forgotten.

What will happen 100 days from now is not on most people’s radars.

  1. The past
  2. The present
  3. The future

Three places to organize our things, our ideas, our experiences, our hopes, our dreams, our successes and our failures.

What is the last thing a speaker wants to do?

Rosen Shingle Creek convention center
After dinner but before leaving Rosen Shingle Creek to drive home.

After a long day, what is the last thing a speaker wants to do?

Or…

At the start of a new day, what’s the first thing a speaker wants to do?

See the room where she’ll be speaking.

Why?

Because it’s what an athlete would do in preparation for a game. Inspect the playing field.
