Counting Our Blessings

Today at 11:30AM, while driving to our son’s friend’s ninth birthday party, we had a vacationing family from South Carolina pull out in front of us which caused an accident.

The other driver and I both got out of our mini vans at the same time and asked the same question, “Is everyone OK”?

We were both relieved to know that no one was hurt.  There were five passengers in his van and three in mine.

He called 911 for non-emergency assistance.  So I called my insurance company.

We waited for the Highway Patrol to arrive, but after an hour, we called back just to see what our options were.

The officer who answered told us we could complete a Self Report form, which are available easily.  But, she said, we had to be in agreement.

The other driver and I walked the scene, discussed the events, and agreed he pulled out in front of us which was the cause of our collision.

We exchanged driver’s licence, insurance, and vehicle registration, cell phones, email addresses, family member’s names, etc.

We were both able to drive away from the scene.

That’s the main point of this post.  We were able to drive away unhurt.

That is why I’m counting my blessings.

Guess what?

i wrote five differently-themed posts this morning between 5-7am.

Ate breakfast, helped Cheryl with a few things as she does her Christmas transformation in our home.

So yeah, today is Sunday, November 26, 2017.

Our Son spent the night at a classmate’s house with a couple other buddies to celebrate one of their birthdays.

Windows open.

Sun shining without a cloud in the sky.

It’s 73 degrees at 11:30am.

Had tickets (twice) to see Led Zeppelin in 1977.

The first time in May at the Capital Center in Landover, Maryland.

Don’t remember much – we started drinking way too early in the day.

The second time for June at JFK stadium in Philadelphia.

John Bonham, the drummer, asphyxiated on his own vomit.
