Real (organizational) life in real time

Two days ago. Dropped off the bag full of glasses with this note to our neighbor (who doubles as our eye doctor) before sunrise.

 

New generation of flood light
Low energy consumption, longer life bulbs are the new normal.

Had the replacement pool filter cartridge on hand for the past six months.

 

Real (organizational) life in real time. The list of things we need to attend to is endless:

  1. Order new eyeglasses
  2. Replace burned out flood light
  3. Replace three-foot tall swimming pool filter cartridge

My Optometrist let me bring six pairs of eyeglasses home so Cheryl could pick for me. i’m not a good judge of “style”.

Since our son is spending the weekend preparing for first semester finals, i used this “free time” to do chores, plus:

  1. Draft outline for the contract the client verbally committed to a few days ago
  2. Chose a few workbook page samples to send via snail mail for client’s boss’s review
  3. Finalize rough draft for tomorrow’s meeting (different client) regarding the January keynote speeches

And on and on…

Time waits for no one.

 

Happy Spring? Well, it will be when this goes live, but today, December 12, 2015, it is not Spring. In fact, we are only ten days from Winter Solstice.

And, 100 days from now (when Spring begins) will we have been successful in launching our 2016 resolution(s)?

Time waits for no one.

Today is yesterday’ “tomorrow”.

The long way is the short cut.

If your goal isn’t impossible, you’re not reaching high enough.

Top update…The timing of yesterdays LinkedIn update was wonderful.

 

My top priority yesterday was to have the entire room .think .differently

Ghandi said something similar, years before yesterday’s speech:

A principle is a principle and in no case can it be watered down because of our incapacity to live it in practice. We have to strive to achieve it, and the striving should be conscious, deliberate, and hard.

After a lifetime of being addicted to quotes, i rarely use quotes anymore. Yet this one is part of the reason the word exception was created.

What is an Apple promoter?

Promoters are the highest level of Apple fans.

Walked into the Apple Store (above) and self-purchased three items using the Apple Store app. Then proceeded to exit without ever having to have an Apple employee assist me.

As an aside, i spoke to a couple of them that i know, just to say hi.
