Horizon West update, March 2015

The forecast for 2040 is for 1.8 million people to live in the area North and Northwest of the Walt Disney World Resort.

When we bought in the Horizon West area in 1990, there was literally nothing residential nor commercial. Seriously. Zero, zilch.

They say it’s good for property values to be in the path of progress.

Horizon West update from Scott Boyd, March 16, 2015.

Horizon West was a private group of large acreage (combined to be 10’s of thousands) citrus farmers who teamed together to propose the rezoning of their land from one home per ten acres to more that four units per one acre.

Scary and good often are one and the same. Photo at Disney Retail Store.

Do not worry about being overwhelmed throughout life. Be worried about not caring.

There will always be things we cannot foresee.

Always.

Care enough to make personal organization a good and decent habit that helps buffer the emotional blows these guaranteed setbacks will deliver.

Florida Hospital Winter Garden under construction, March 12, 2015.

Without blinding passion we are merely a dormant force, full of untapped possibility. We are like flint waiting to be stuck to produce a spark.

And yet it may never happen.

It’s hard to surrender our precious time, because it takes lots of precious time to convince ourselves why we are here on this planet.

The first, most magnificent day in your life is the day you were born. The second is when you figure out why.

What do you do jeff noel?

i give speeches to change the world.

Photo above: Odds are high (but not guaranteed) this hospital will once again call on jeff noel to help them operationalize their healthcare culture.

Does it even matter?

March 21 as this is written. June 21 as it goes public. Happy Summer Solstice. Here’s to hoping this is your best Summer ever.

Back to today, March 21. In 10 days the sixth year of daily blogging ends and the seventh year begins.

There’s an almost universal misunderstanding about the daily blogging. And after 11,000 blog posts, it long ago became something to accept and not worry about.

And here’s the crazy part – the writing isn’t one daily blog post for nearly every day of the year.

It’s every single day, without exception.

It’s 2,191 days in a row.

Unbelievable, until it’s not.

And it’s five differently-themed posts a day on five differently-themed websites.

Insane? For sure. Does it matter? Only to this person.
