Time for a hurricane cut?

home chores
Filled five big trash cans with plant clippings yesterday.

A crew is arriving in an hour for the annual palm tree trimming.

Forty sabal palms – the Florida State tree – will get a hurricane cut.

In preparation, i trimmed our split-leafed philodendrons.

David, owner of PLM, is an exceptional small business owner. His focus is commercial landscape management, but he allows me to be a client because our yard is two-acres and landscaped like a business.

Being responsive is challenging because life is hard

Glacier Sperry Chalet in Winter
Glacier National Park Sperry Chalet burned down last Summer (2017). Walls propped up to keep snow from possibly collapsing walls.

No tree trimming here.

Tree trimmers, almost on cue, rescheduled last Friday’s appointment to today.

Haven’t heard back from yesterday’s text asking if everything is still good for today.

Guessing today will be a no-show.

They do great work with trees.

It’s a tough business because they often go to jobs that require more of them than expected.

All i ask is a common courtesy to keep me informed.

Reasonable expectation?

Got Tree?

Yes, got tree!  And a fire in the fireplace.

Yesterday.  It was cold (65 degrees).  This is cold for Central Floridians. Seriously.  And yes, Central Floridians realize that this fact is fairly obnoxious to those of you living in colder regions.

By the way, most Floridians originally are from somewhere cold.

So we know what cold really is, but we now like the way it rolls off our tongue, “Oh, it was cold yesterday.  It only got up to 65 degrees!  I had to put on socks and a jacket.”

Stay warm, and make your Monday great.  It’s up to you.  Always has been.  Always will be.  Carpe diem!
