The above quote was the reality which clearly, concisely, and compelling framed up my drinking. i was a good drinker, never missing work. Never drank before or during work. Never. Ever. But once i got home, there was never a reason to skip a day. Never. Ever.

10 pounds lighter ever since

Late July. Water is 37 degrees. You can guess what happened next. What i would have never guessed is that the 10 pounds i shed between end of July and end of September would stay off.

Lean is Nature’s way. It’s exhilarating. It’s like being a kid full of physical vibrancy.

In nature, being lean is the best you can do. You will never be so far past survival that you get to carrying extra weight (unless you hibernate every winter). In nature, survival keeps you lean. Why? Because survival (and reproducing) are your only jobs. And if you hibernate, do you have any idea how lean you are in the Spring?
