Thank you Friday

Our DI leadership chain of excellence has morphed to this model. Photo: Twitter screen shot.

Thank you Friday.

For what?

Being mindful and present to understand the significance of this 72-hour window.

  • Cheryl’s Disney retirement announcement yesterday
  • Traveled the world with Scott Milligan, Disney colleague who took his life today seven years ago
  • Tomorrow’s If Disney Ran Your Life podcast launch
  • Assorted other behind-the-scenes business progress
  • Our son returns to college in 48 hours after 6-week break

First time for everything

Photo: Yesterday. Windows open during daylight for first time in seven months.

First time for everything.

Yesterday, during the day, was the first time since Spring that it’s been cooler outside than the 75 degrees inside.

A delightful breeze and fresh air make enjoying office and administrative work easy.

(csn, text me when you finish reading today’s posts. Ty)

Turning 60

In the Madrid airport yesterday…such is life.

Turning 60.

This Summer – the Summer of 2019 – feels like a bonus.

A self-imposed bonus.

In a 2008-premonition, i gave myself 10 years to do everything in life i could do to eliminate regret if, indeed, i didn’t live past my 60th birthday (today).

By the time this goes live on August 8, 2019, our son will be a few days away from going off to college.

And Cheryl will have been exercising regularly for a full year.

Both of these accomplishments have been life-bucket-list items.

Almost 60

Disney Leadership Speakers
What professional, in their right mind, wears a hat like this during a corporate interview?

Almost 60.

Who travels over oceans to international destinations toting a Goofy Hat?

Who wears said hat to media interviews?

Ask yourself crazy questions.

Assuming it’s never immoral nor unethical, consider saying yes to many “would-you-do-it” questions?

To the impossible

Disney Keynote Speaker
Ty spent an hour in the office and took 100 photos, hoping to get three that would be headshot-worthy.

To the impossible.

You inspire me.

Dear impossible, thank you for your gift.

Hope to see you again tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow, April Fools Day, marks the 10th anniversary of that impossible goal with a self-imposed 100-day writer’s boot camp to write five daily, differently-themed blog posts – simply to gain writing practice for writing my first book.
