Shedding is cathartic

The 20-year-old chain link fence is going to fence heaven. Yesterday morning.

The crew of four did in half a day what would have taken me a week (or longer) to do as a do-it-yourselfer.

Pressure washing our entrance sidewalk last night.

Shedding is cathartic.

i believe stress is insidiously induced by clutter and “what-if-i-need-this-someday”.

Why?

Because shedding makes me come alive.

The margin (breathing room) shedding creates is inspiring.

The one phrase that haunts us

Opossum in Florida homeowner live trap
There is a simplicity to nature that we can learn a lot from. Animals do not have junk drawers.

The one phrase that haunts us:

But we may need it sometime.

This is true.

And rare.

The percentage of things we have that we never ever use again is astonishing.

Same with the percentage of things we will eventually need.

What we go through life never knowing is would the risk to shed our stuff lead us to a freedom and joy that is incomprehensible?

Anyone hoping to find out?
