Next Trip

Logan Pass Visitors Center parking lot June 16, 2019. No cars. When we return July 6, the parking lot will be full of cars.

Next trip.

Sanibel Island, in two days.

Then a week at home.

Then a one-way ticket back to Kalispell.

Then a quick trip to Mexico from Glacier and back to Kalispell.

Can return at any time and can stay for a month.

New territory our family.

Membership dues and then some

Favorite Pixar movie is UP.
Beargrass lines both sides of Going To The Sun Road at Lake McDonald Lodge.
Yesterday.
This is not good news. Kalispell doesn’t offer many plan b’s.
One (expensive) seat left. This is my only option. Big executive board meeting tomorrow afternoon. Even an early flight out tomorrow (of which there are none available), would not work.
Brenda (hand on head) helped me immensely and ultimately confirmed United will refund my delayed flight; however, she wasn’t able to give me the phone agent’s name, only this link: www.United.com/refunds

i’ve paid my membership dues and then some.

The long way is the short cut.

A vision is lofty, hard to articulate, you may not say it the same way twice.

A vision may also be impossible.

To the one who gives up before their life is over, they never know what could have been.

(i get it, life is full of challenges. i also get that perseverance is a thing because of its definition.)

So thankful for an impossible goal to be able to work from anywhere at anytime, doing work i love.

i booked the last Delta seat (for a flight leaving in 80 minutes) with an iPhone while waiting in the United Customer Service line.

Life is good

The upper right time (of day) is accurate. Nothing else on the display is though. Actual trip time is 6.5 hours, not 2.5. Actual mileage is 34 miles.

It took 90 minutes to descend without any challenges. Slower riding due to the slick road.  Typical descent is an hour.

A hot shower and the in-room spaghetti dinner felt like such a luxury.

Life is good.

Be beary, beary aware

Early last night we picked up a bike for the weekend. Pictured here is the beargrass at Apgar Visitor Center.
Vivid lighting.
Shadowy contrast.
Electrified by the sinking Sun.
Other-worldly.

Be beary, beary aware

We are very aware of a Bear Grass bloom in West Glacier and Lake McDonald that i’ve not witnessed in 46 years of visits.

It’s so remarkable that i can’t stop taking pictures to show Cheryl.

It’s a unique plant that has a limited Summer bloom window and an unpredictable bloom voracity.

Never neglect your family for work

After our Disney Creativity idea generation brainstorming session, we walked outside to drink in some sunlight and fresh air.
We strolled around the Lodge property with no plan, no agenda.
Dining Hall fireplace caught my eye.
Lake McDonald Lodge marina. The Garden Wall in the distance.
So tiny. So out of place in Lake McDonald’s rocky shore.
Know and understand your employees.
Magic The Gathering is a popular card game with meaning.
Some context to our location.

Never neglect your family for work. – Walt Disney

After our incredible brainstorming (Disney idea generation blueprint) session, we got some fresh air lakeside.

Then you re-taught me Magic The Gathering.

Son, you are a thorough and patient teacher (trainer).

Thank you.

PS. Can’t wait to play again this afternoon in our second floor loft/office.

Best office ever?

Maybe.
