Lots of errands yesterday, including filing a claim for the accident a few days ago. After the fact, i realized i could have avoided a face to face office visit by doing it on my iPhone.
State Farm permits one accident forgiveness when you are a safe driver for 10 years or more.
We are safe drivers.
We have safe driver designation on two of our cars, but we’ve only owned the third car (in the accident) for one year. So State Farm defaulted us to a Good Driver Discount, and it would take nine more years to earn Safe Driver discount. So, our rate for this car will go up about 10%, for three years.
Anyway, never knew State Farm had accident forgiveness. And never knew that your impeccable safe driving record doesn’t transfer to a new policy for a vehicle you will be driving.
Live and learn, and remain grateful that no one was hurt.
