Today is not a good day

Mountains
To be the one taking the photo is inspiring.

Stunning angle to see Swiftcurrent Firetower (mid-upper left). Oberlin behind firetower. Reynolds behind Oberlin. Jackson upper right. Clements on right, in front of Jackson.
Mountains
Swiftcurrent Firetower (8,200’) is now on right edge. Mount Gould dominates the upper left horizon.

Today is not a good day to put your dreams on hold.

Need little

Mountain
There’s a Goat trail leading to the snow. i went part way and didn’t have the desire to go further. Why? Because i just did something i thought was impossible for me.
Three hikers on a mountain top
Jean and Logan told me about the second Grinnell Glacier Overlook saddle (today’s featured photos) being easily reachable. Ran into them on the trail near the Chalet and offered to escort them up.

Escorted Jean and Logan up to Swiftcurrent Ridge (my label) as a shortcut to Swiftcurrent Glacier. On right horizon is where i had just come from, the second Grinnell Glacier Overlook saddle.

Granite Park Chalet is a great classroom. The second saddle is a big smiley face, in my opinion.

Let your home be your lesson.

The greatest gift you can give the youth and young adults in your life is your organized lifestyle.

Organized priorities drive your decisions. Decisions drive your habits. Habits drive your life.

Keep those eyes open

Apple alarm clock setting
Yesterday’s travel day made staying awake until 8pm (10pm Eastern) a struggle. Grateful to begin today with 7.5 hours sleep. And since i overslept 90 minutes this morning, actually logged nine hours sleep. Sweet!

It’s challenging some days. To write five daily, differently-themed blog posts before beginning the day. But i do, and i have, for 12.5 years.

Everyday.

Not missing a single day.

Sometimes to do it, one or two posts are written as i fight my eyes to stay open, as i type from bed, like right now.

The great resignation

Man and two dogs
Dogs are beacons (and great teachers) for unconditional love.

The blinding flash of the obvious is that some see Covid-19 with a closed mindset. Some with a growth mindset.

Closed mindset proliferates the great resignation to being an unprepared victim. It is what it is.

Growth mindset exploits, for others, the great reset from the gift to publicly enjoy radical departures from dogma, tradition, and comfort.

Resign yourself that humanity will never alleviate or eliminate our world’s greatest challenges.

Or.

Commit to being part of the solution to our world’s biggest challenges.
