So they’re brothers

We grew up in York County, Pennsylvania.

Baltimore, Maryland was the closest city with a professional sports team(s). Philly and Pittsburg, even though in our home state, were farther away.

Baltimore had the Orioles baseball team and the Colts football team.

The Orioles and the Colts were ‘my’ teams.

My Mom tells the story about me asking if (or maybe me simply stating they are) Frank Robinson and Brooks Robinson are brothers.

One was black, one white.

i didn’t see the difference.

i asked because they had the same last name and played on the same baseball team. How could they not be brothers?

There’s a lot of truth in comedy.

And a lot of comedy in truth.

Surfing You Tube last week and a new name in comedy presented itself as a video i might like.

Sight unseen. Name unrecognizable. Gave the 56-minute video a shot.

Couldn’t stop laughing.

All the way to the end.

Greg is an artist.

That’s initially what hooked me.

Few would focus on that, but i go there naturally, instinctively. Always ready for a teachable moment (or 56 minutes).

It’s delightful when a You Tube comedy video is funnier than expected. Watched it the first week of December. Sharing it here to see if it’s still worth rewatching in mid-July.

Bonus, Jimmy Buffett video from a song on his current album, texted to me just now, 1030am December 6, 2023.

Belief has an astonishing impact on our attitude.

Our attitude has a remarkable impact on our desire to transform our habits.

Our habits are the key to wellness.

And to be clear, our habits can also be our demise.

Praying for daylight. When (if) you watch this Rascal Flatts music video, know that if i were singing it, i’d be singing to my eyesight, not a girl.

Oldest or youngest, at home?

Person sitting in the mountains
Strenuous walking is good for you. Resting (pictured here as we await sunset) is good for you too. Reflection is also good for you.

Blessed are the experienced. They possess earned insight and context. The inexperienced make errors the wise know how to prevent.

Better to be the oldest person in the neighborhood or the youngest person in the nursing home?

Be the one in the neighborhood that knows the history.

Yet get out and see the world.

If someone goes to the same “vacation” place every year, it means something.
