From one Mouse House to another was today’s round trip run.

Living your dream takes many things.

Being decently organized is one of them.

i think about mornings like this one and realize this is how the early pioneers must have felt when after they did the arduous work of striking out on their own, clearing their land, surviving the unforgiving environment, planting their crop, figuring out how to live until harvest, and then the harvest.

The glorious, life-sustaining harvest.

And then their spirit soared.

Being organized at home ripples into every corner of life

Windermere Prep High School lockers — Yesterday’s dry run bike ride to school. Included finding and opening locker.

Pretty organized yesterday.

Made hot breakfast for a 15-year old before sunrise.

Biked to school with our son, before sunrise.

The sun arose just as we arrived.

After a seven-mile round trip bike ride, logged a three mile jog that included a client call while jogging.

Finish writing five blogs before leaving the house.

Met with Lee Cockerell at ‘our’ Starbucks.

Gold’s Gym core workout afterwards, just down the street from Starbucks.

Met with a Disney colleague at My French Cafe. Paying it forward the way Lee helps me.

Scheduled first brainstorming session with Orlando client (signed three-day engagement contract two days ago).

Couple hours administrative work.

Asleep for a 30-minute nap at 6:30pm and didn’t awaken until 3:30am this morning.

Top Disney Keynote Speakers — The Keynote began with a few jokes and then everyone taking a selfie.

Ever take 16 years to take a small risk?

Have wanted to give a speech in my preferred method of dress for 16 years.

Jeans, t-shirt and running shoes.

Steve Jobs did it.

Tim Cook wears jeans and never tucks in his shirt.

The most admired company in the world and their leaders dress like that.

Gutsy, right?

Planned on a clothes change at the very end, to intentionally make a point.

It worked.

What terrified me for 16 years turned out to be painless.

But now it’s hard to know if the standing ovation was because of the content delivery, or from the Pixar tee-shirt.

It was the gut reaction comment written to Bob. Sharing it now to capture the spirit of today’s five posts – no guts, no glory:

Thank you Bob, you are kind and generous to take time out to read and comment. People are very busy.

Eventually, close friends and colleagues will learn about the fees, but no one will ever remember the six years of working two jobs seven days a week, traveling, staying healthy, spending $80k on 72 months of operating expenses for the first six years, not making a dime (on the second job, my only job now), and never paying myself any salary, ever.

No one will ever know the countless times the thought of quitting seemed like the educated and practical choice.

The only thing more remarkable than the speaking fee is the indomitable will to make a difference.
